Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The Treasurer may withdraw $313,713,000 from the Consolidated Fund for the 2026/2027 financial year.
The Treasurer can provide extra funding if legislation or determinations increase the cost of salaries and related expenses.
Spending on items listed in Schedule 1 cannot exceed the specified amounts unless the Financial Management Act 1994 allows it.
The Treasurer may increase funding for a department's item in Schedule 1 to cover depreciation of assets used for outputs.
Departments must apply funds to Schedule 1 items when they make arrangements or incur obligations for payments in future financial years.
The Appropriation (Parliament 2026-2027) Act 2026 is repealed four years after it receives Royal Assent.
