Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Amendments to NSW Surrogacy laws in this bill ensure that both parents in a same-sex relationship are recognized as legal parents, without needing additional legal procedures
Faith based schools and orgs are now forced to accept students and staff with diverse sexuality and gender identities regardless of the school or organisational beliefs
Transgender individuals are no longer required to undergo surgery in order to update their gender on birth certificates
Some laws now use the phrase “living with HIV” and updated wording like that instead of e.g. “HIV infection” to avoid stigma
