Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Victorian Property Fund can now pay for the setup and operation of dispute resolution and consumer advocacy services for various property and housing laws.
The Residential Tenancies Fund may be used to fund dispute resolution services for disputes under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.
The Sex Work Regulation Fund is closed, and the Business Licensing Authority can no longer refund annual licence fees.
The Estate Agents Council and the Public Records Advisory Council are abolished.
The Director of the Estate Agents Act 1980 is no longer required to consult with the Estate Agents Council when performing certain duties or delegating powers to industry associations.
The Secretary to the Department of Government Services replaces the Secretary to the Department of Justice under the Estate Agents Act 1980.
