Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The State Electricity Commission of Victoria is abolished and its Interim Chief Executive Officer is removed from office.
The State takes over all property, rights, and liabilities of the former commission.
The State replaces the former commission as the party in any existing legal proceedings, contracts, or agreements.
The State is recognized as the registered proprietor of any land previously held by the former commission.
The Minister administering the Act takes over the functions and powers previously held by the Administrator.
The Minister can issue certificates to prove that specific property or liabilities have been allocated to a person or company.
Stamp duty and other taxes are waived for the transfer of the former commission's property and rights.
Money in the Electricity, Gas, and Ports Funds is moved into the Consolidated Fund.
