Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The Treasurer is authorised to spend $297,204,000 from the Consolidated Fund for the 2025/2026 financial year.
The Treasurer can issue extra funds if legislation or determinations increase the cost of salaries and related expenses.
Spending on specific items listed in the schedule cannot exceed the allocated amounts unless permitted by the Financial Management Act 1994.
The Treasurer may increase funding for a department's net asset base by an amount that does not exceed the cost of depreciation.
Departments must account for future financial obligations by applying a corresponding amount to the relevant item in the schedule during the 2025/2026 financial year.
