Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

People publishing or broadcasting information about VCAT guardianship and administration proceedings are prohibited from identifying the parties involved.
The prohibition on identifying parties does not apply if the Tribunal orders otherwise.
The represented person or a person they authorise is exempt from the prohibition on publishing identifying information.
VCAT is prohibited from authorising pictures of parties to the proceedings unless it is in the public interest.
