Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The regulator must automatically cancel a driver's accreditation if they are found guilty of two or more specified offences within 10 years.
The regulator records court orders, disciplinary actions, and VCAT review details for permission holders in a public register.
Drivers face a penalty of 20 penalty units for using a vehicle with booking service provider signage if they are not an associated driver for that provider.
Individuals and companies face heavy fines for illegally downloading or disclosing images and audio from security devices in commercial passenger vehicles.
Registered booking service providers must report the names and accreditation numbers of all associated drivers to the regulator.
The regulator can suspend or cancel the registration of a booking service provider that fails to report its associated drivers.
Drivers are no longer required to sign a certificate of accreditation upon receipt.
