Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
racing greyhounds that are rehomed as pets must remain registered under the Greyhound Racing Act for the rest of their lives, even after leaving the racing industry
the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission cannot charge fees or impose conditions on the registration of a rehomed greyhound
the Commission's code of practice must include standards for the rehoming and euthanasia of greyhounds — covering any dog that has at any time been part of the racing industry, not just currently registered racing dogs
