Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The value of a vote is reduced by two-thirds for an original owner who holds at least half of the total unit entitlements in a strata scheme.
Strata schemes consisting of exactly two lots are exempt from holding annual general meetings and other general meetings.
Two-lot strata schemes are no longer required to pass special resolutions, form strata committees, or prepare plans for anticipated major expenditure.
Owners corporations in two-lot strata schemes must make decisions via written resolution instead of through general meetings or committees.
The law introduces formal definitions for cosmetic work, minor work, and payment plans within strata schemes.
