If this bill passes, it means that:
Outdoor Recreation Victoria (ORV) is established as a new statutory authority responsible for regulating and promoting hunting, fishing, camping, boating, four-wheel driving and other outdoor recreation on public land in Victoria.
The Game Management Authority is abolished; all its property, rights, liabilities, staff, and authorised officer appointments transfer to ORV.
The Victorian Fisheries Authority is abolished; all its property, rights, liabilities, staff, and authorised officer appointments also transfer to ORV.
A Land Access Panel is established within ORV with functions relating to public access to private land for outdoor recreation activities.
Over 10 Acts are amended to replace references to the abolished bodies, including the Fisheries Act 1995, Wildlife Act 1975, National Parks Act 1975, and Firearms Act 1996.
